Send scheduling requests to plan interviews

Send scheduling requests to candidates when you want to invite them to an event like an interview, or screening call. The candidate receives a unique scheduling link that shows the available timeslots, based on the availability of your hiring team. When the candidate selects a slot, the event is added to everyone's calendar. The scheduling requests save yourself and the candidates the hassle of emailing back and forth finding a time suitable time for an interview.

Sending scheduling requests

You can send the new scheduling request right from the candidate profile or from the dedicated stage page. By hitting the “Schedule” button, you can pick any of your existing event templates, or create an event from scratch. Setting up a scheduling request is similar to creating any other event in Homerun, which means you can invite members of the hiring team, set a duration for the event, a location, and add a description. All of these details will be shared with the candidate as well.

When you click “Send”, the candidate receives an email with a link to the booking page. On the booking page, they can select an available date and a timeslot. The availability is updated in realtime based on your team's calendar so there’s never an overlap in meetings.

Whenever the candidate has picked a timeslot, they’ll receive an invite for the event and the event is added to the calendar of the hiring team.

Scheduling settings

The scheduling request features allows for plenty of customisation. This way the events will meet complex calendars and all the availability of the team. A new section when scheduling an Event allows you to set the general availability for when the event can take place, and allows you set a scheduling window, the interval of the events, and the buffer before and after the event. Pro tip: you can also set all these in the updated Event templates.

Calendar integrations

To use the scheduling request feature, you and your team will need to integrate their calendar. This way Homerun will know which timeslots will work for you and your team. You can integrate any Microsoft or Google calendar.
